We have arrived at the last episode of the landings recommended in this section langarola. Despite what you may think, it was not left for last for the historical disagreements between Alba and Bra (I am braideseee), but only because there are things to tell. So a few words... let’s start?
When naming Alba there are generally two main identifying things that are immediately named: the Ferrero and the Truffle. So I start with the historical chicaneries and then I tell you also the others. First of all, have you ever noticed all the towers, or at least those that are left, that rise above the city? It is said that in prehistoric times the skyline of the town was dotted with towers. Hence the name "City of One Hundred Towers". In fact, most of them have been shot down and some are still there
intact, concentrated in the historic center. Always talking about history, it has passed here under the bridges (of Tanaro). Beppe Fenoglio, a native of Alba, told the story of rural life in the Langhe and of the Italian resistance. The Ferrero family has certainly made history here. In 1942, Pietro Ferrero opened a confectionery workshop and a few years later, almost by chance, the first prototype of Nutella was born, which achieved an unheard-of success. Only in the spring of 1964 the famous hazelnut cream acquires this name, and from there all the various lines of confectionery products that we now know. But not only Nutella live the albesi and its many tourists. Let’s talk about
Wine, as always... but also of Truffle. The Bianco d'Alba is born in the period when the fog and the cool make space between the sunny days. It is born in the hills, in the woods, among poplars and lindens and gives unique gastronomic experiences. The wines of its territory are unique, and we have talked about them extensively in previous articles. But is wine made in Alba? Eh già! The hamlet of San Rocco Seno d'Elvio is the only
of the Municipality of Alba where you can produce wine, and also where there are vineyards, you will say!
